Boma peace meetings are fundamental in ensuring inclusion of women, youths and people with disabilities’ voices are heard and that decisions made are gender sensitive. In the quest for sustainable peace, Social Ministry Research Network Centre (SOMIRENEC) engaged women in a peace dialogue from Chepayuat location in Masol, West Pokot County.
During the meeting, the Participants reported that they were putting in place strategies to ensure that there is enough pasture for their Livestock. They did this by reserving some parts of the community for dry season. They also expressed that there was need for peace so that children could report back to school and that the community could do business freely.
