SOMIRENEC in collaboration with PEACE COP KENYA, National Police Service and Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) Oldonyiro Isiolo County, conducted a Peace Building dialogue with reformed Moran’s. This aimed at influencing a more proactive community policing for enhanced security, and promoting social cohesion among community members. During the dialogue, the reformed Moran’s were persuaded to desist from acts of robbery and fight for scare resources, especially during this time that the community has being badly hit by drought.
As a result, the Moran’s accepted to work closely with the Assistant County Commissioner (ACC), and Officer Commanding Station (OCS) in reporting incidents of theft and sharing early warning information.
