SOMIRENEC in partnership with Isiolo Central Deputy County Commissioner, PEACE COP KENYA and Local Administration held a community peace Dialogue with Elders and Moran’s who are currently herding in Aukot, Awarnapan, Nakoriakwan, Apetet and Loloslo villages neighboring Samburu County within Loruko area.
Community representatives agreed not to retreat to inter-ethnic conflicts over grazing areas, but equally asked National Government security teams to support them in the recovery of their stolen livestock.
Further, the community agreed to have a dialogue with herders from neighboring communities on grazing plans. This will see all communities herders share common resources for the good of social cohesion of the society and for Peace.
