SOMIRENEC in collaboration with the Assistant County Commissioner Sigor division, RDU and NPS Turkana and local administration from Kainuk held a cross border peace dialogue at Lami Nyeusi in Pokot Central. The meeting was aimed at address insecurity issues in the area. The meeting brought together community members from Turkana and Pokot in order to deliberate on calming down the situation and bringing normalcy in the area. The past 2 months have witnessed raids from Turkana side where over 200 Livestock have been stolen and people killed. Security teams urged the community to be sincere when reporting the number of Livestock stolen so that tracing them can be done easily, they were accused of exaggerating the numbers with an aim of getting additional stock.
