In one of our project, Drought Resilience through sustainable livelihoods project, SOMIRENEC trained National and County Authorities in Merti Sub-county in Isiolo County. The training aimed at equipping the officers and stakeholders with Knowledge and skills on how to prevent and mitigate crime through community policing, peace building strategies, community led pathways for crime prevention and conflict early warning and incidence monitoring.
The officers and stakeholders resolved to work closely with National and County Administration Units in Fostering crime prevention, especially by holding frequent Chief Barazas to comb out insecurity issues affecting communities. The Deputy County Commissioner emphasized on the need for parents to take care of their children during this long holiday period by monitoring their behaviors.
