Agriculture is the backbone of Kenya, hence it need intense development to realize its potential. SOMIRENEC’s agriculture program works towards tackling climatic problems and farming challenges faced by farmers in the urban communities.

We train farmers on conservative farming (CA) practices in order to offer the farmers the opportunity to conserve natural resources, cut down production cost while reducing yield fluctuations and associated risks.

Through the program, families from Gataka slum are able to get at least 3 meals a day and it has also improved the lives of the youth from Gataka and kept them away from criminal activities.
