SOMIRENEC in partnership with state department of children services and shelter children’s home is implementing a reintegration project. The project focuses on safety returning and reuniting of children back to their families and communities through family tracing, home visits, follow ups, assessments, capacity building and psychosocial support. Children find themselves in charitable childcare institution due to various factors such as abandonment, vulnerability or poverty, risks of early marriages and female genital mutilation. Through its activities, SOMIRENEC has created a safe environment for the children to thrive in, reunited children with their families, strengthened relationship between children and the parents and reduced case of early/ forced marriages and female genital mutilation.
